US government asks big tech to help "end violence"
The US government's Department of Homeland Security has written to the CEOs of Facebook, Twitter, Google, Snapchat and Apple to demand their help in ending protest violence. Acting Secretary Chad Wolf asked that their platforms are "not used as a tool to organise, facilitate, or incite dangerous or deadly riots".
